This session helps couples explore how their backgrounds, beliefs, and past experiences shape their expectations for marriage. It also encourages honest conversations about readiness, red flags, and what commitment really looks like in everyday life.

How We Talk (and Fight)
Couples learn how they each communicate under stress and how to express needs clearly without blame. The session focuses on active listening, de-escalation, and creating healthier ways to handle conflict together.

Before the Bills

This session goes beyond wedding logistics to focus on how planning pressure can affect the relationship. Couples discuss budget, roles, expectations, and how to protect their connection while preparing for the big day.

Before Forever: Our Marriage Plan
This final session brings everything together into a simple marriage plan for facing challenges with honesty and unity. Couples leave with shared agreements, check-in habits, and tools to keep growing together through difficult seasons.

Is this course only for engaged couples, or can dating couples join too?
Before Forever is for couples who are seriously considering marriage, whether they are engaged or still dating but want to explore their future with intention. It is especially helpful for couples who want to have honest conversations before making a lifelong commitment.
How many years before our wedding should we attend a pre marriage course?
A pre marriage course is best attended when you are seriously planning your future together, ideally 12 to 18 months before the wedding. That gives you enough time to reflect, have important conversations, and work through any issues before the big day.
What if we feel uncomfortable discussing some topics?
That is completely normal, and the course is designed to create a respectful space for honest conversation. Couples are encouraged to move at their own pace, and no one is forced to share more than they are comfortable with.
Can we attend this course if we are not Maltese?
Yes! We welcome couples of all nationalities that want to intentionally prepare for marriage.
Can we attend this course if we are not Catholic?
Yes! Before Forever is open to all faiths. Whilst we do talk about faith and spirituality, it is discussed in a way that is open for all faiths, including multi faith couples, or no faith couples.
Can we attend this course if we are Gay/Lesbian?
Yes! Before Forever is open to all committed couples preparing for marriage, including gay and lesbian couples. The course is designed to support couples as they prepare for a strong, intentional marriage together, whatever their sexual orientation is.
What makes this course different from other pre marriage courses?
Before Forever is designed to be inclusive, interactive, and practical, so every couple feels welcome and leaves with tools they can actually use. It is led by experienced professionals and focuses on real conversation, reflection, and actionable exercises rather than just theory or a lecture-style approach.
What language will the course be delivered in?
The course will be delivered in English. This helps ensure the sessions are accessible and easy to follow for all participating couples.
How do we sign up?
At the moment, you can sign up to the Waiting List and you will get 10% OFF the first course you do with The Couple's Compass.
We will launch sales of Before Forever around mid July with Early Bird pricing, valid till end December 2026. You can purchase the course to lock in the price and attend the course anytime in the future.
From 1st January 2027, the price will increase.
Is there a deposit or payment plan?
Payment must be paid in full to book the course. For the Early Bird pricing (till end December 2026), we will not be offering a payment plan, however from 1st January 2027, we will be offering staggered payments in 2 or 3 installments.
When does the course start?
We aim to launch our first course in early October 2026 and we will run courses regularly based on demand. If you're interested, join the waiting list so that we can advise you when the next course will be launched.
What if we miss a session?
If you miss a session, we will give you the notes and exercises so that you can catch up and not miss any of the information that was given to the participants. The best option is to attend as consistently as possible, since each session builds on the one before it.
